Vegetative Propagation by Root Segments Cuttings of <i>Sclerocarya Birrea</i> (A. Rich.) Hochst: Effects of Substrate and Mycorrhizal Inocula on the Ability to Root Cuttings

Sclerocarya birrea (A. Rich.) Hochst is one of the woody plants soudano-Sahelian zones, with great socioeconomic importance. The local populations over-exploit this species for their daily socio-economic needs and endangered its durability. objective study was to contribute domestication by low-cost technique Root Segments Cuttings (RSC). substrates sand/sawdust dark soil/Sawdust have been inoculated 0, 10, 20 g mycorrhizae. experimental design a split plot 4 repetitions. unit 10 cuttings. results show that best substrate budding RSC mixture Sand/Sawdust (37.77±17.15%). appropriate dose mycorrhizae (33.33±21.6%). For height aerial axes, satisfactory result obtained in (3.43±2.40 cm). Concerning number leaves, maximum recorded (3.60±1.36). analysis variance did not meaningful effect treatments (0.54>0.05), as well (0.76>0.05). Regarding rooting cuttings, must notice newly formed roots (2.22±1.01) while has much allowed appearance (3.41±1.24). length (2.9±1.3 cm), whiles proportion permitted lot growth (4.24±1.69 cm) far plum tree Africa concerned.
